Jeni Britton Bauer is an award-winning cookbook author, but that’s not where she got her start. Before she turned her talents to ice cream, she wanted to make perfume. She spent her days mixing up perfume concoctions like Birch & Marshmallow and Wildberry Lavender before stumbling upon her first ice cream experiment. Her 2014 follow-up Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Desserts includes over 100 more new recipes for ice creams and ice cream desserts. When Estee Lauder asked Bauer to team up to create an ice cream treat based on their Bronze Goddess perfume, she jumped at the chance to go back to her perfuming roots. Bauer created the Bronze Goddess Sundae with a base of Salty Caramel ice cream, cherries cold-poached in orange blossom water, lemon juice and peach liqueur, and topped with toasted coconut and honey whipped cream.
